Le 5 juin 1983, Noah dominait Wilander en finale de Roland-Garros. Alors âgé de 23 ans, il était le premier Français à triompher à domicile depuis Bernard en 1946, et reste encore aujourd'hui le dernier tricolore à avoir remporté le tournoi
